Amazon is introducing holiday peak fees for sellers using its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service in the UK and Germany. FBA sellers send their products to Amazon warehouses, where Amazon handles storage, packing and shipping to customers. The surcharge runs for three months over the festive period.

When and How Much

The fees apply to FBA orders delivered between October 15, 2025, and January 14, 2026 in the UK. Germany gets similar charges during the same period.

UK sellers face these average costs:

  • £0.10 per parcel (small and standard parcels)
  • £0.05 per envelope (large and extra-large envelopes)

The charges cover local FBA and cross-border fulfillment from EU to UK.

What’s Excluded

Oversize items and Low-Price FBA products won’t get hit with extra fees. This protects sellers of bulky goods and those in Amazon’s budget program.

Amazon’s Reasoning

The company says it’s following what other logistics firms do. Amazon plans to “introduce a holiday peak fulfillment fee to cover increased seasonal costs, similar to major carriers.”

Amazon says “the entire industry experiences increased operational costs over the festive season.”

The fees help “maintain delivery speed, expand fulfillment capacity and support customer demand during this busy period.”

From October 1, 2025, sellers can check holiday fees using Amazon’s Revenue Calculator and FBA fee preview report. This gives merchants time to adjust pricing before peak season hits.

Company Statement

Amazon said: “Our selling partners are incredibly important to us and this is not a decision that we’ve made lightly.”

The company points to higher network usage and increased fulfillment and transportation costs as drivers for the seasonal charges.

Sellers can find detailed rates in Amazon’s 2025 holiday peak fulfillment fee documentation on Seller Central.
