Just Eat has introduced a summer membership program that removes delivery fees for a flat £5.99 payment. The 90-day subscription covers orders from their network of 90,000 partner businesses. The membership spans restaurants, supermarkets and retail shops, letting customers order both meals and household items without delivery charges. This approach broadens Just Eat’s appeal beyond traditional takeaway services.
Member perks include exclusive deals
Subscribers get free items from Greggs and Co-op, special discounts at restaurants including Leon, Island Poke, and The Breakfast Club, and two-for-one offers at Patty&Bun and PizzaExpress. The membership activates at checkout during qualifying purchases. Just Eat positions this as a convenience play for busy summer schedules.
Just Eat UK&I managing director Claire Pointon told Retail Gazette: “We’re thrilled to be launching Just Eat+ – which is designed to make everyday ordering that bit easier and more rewarding.”
Competition intensifies in delivery space
This launch coincides with Deliveroo expanding into beach and festival deliveries through their Boots partnership. They’re bringing over 750 products like sunscreen and painkillers to more than 75 outdoor locations within 20 minutes.
Deliveroo has also started testing drone deliveries in Dublin, exploring new fulfilment methods.
The subscription model shows how delivery platforms are moving toward recurring revenue streams rather than relying solely on per-order fees.
