This innovative feature offers e-commerce, marketing and SEO professionals a tool to improve their websites’ performance through actionable insights.

What does the Search Console Recommendations feature bring?

  • Data-based insights: Recommendations are derived from comprehensive data within Google’s search systems, including indexing and crawling. This ensures that suggestions are based on real data, providing a solid foundation for optimization strategies
  • Improved accessibility: Data that was in Search Console is now more accessible thanks to direct recommendations. This simplifies the process without the need for extensive data analysis
  • Focus on optimization: Recommendations prioritize implementing structured data, adding sitemaps, and monitoring trending queries and pages. These targeted actions can significantly increase a website’s visibility and ranking in Google search, thereby increasing traffic and potential sales.
  • Dynamic updates: Recommendations are regularly updated to reflect the latest data and trends. This ensures that optimization is always in line with current search behavior and algorithm changes, helping websites remain competitive in the dynamic digital environment

Recommendations in Google Search Console fall into three main categories:

  1. Issues: Identification of problems that need to be fixed to improve site performance
  2. Opportunities: Highlighting areas where optimization could increase traffic
  3. Configuration: Suggestions for configurations that can simplify site management and improve efficiency

How to find recommendations in Google Search Console?

Go to the Overview section in the Search Console Dashboard. Recommendations are based on actionable insights derived from your site’s data and are regularly updated. Given the experimental nature of this feature, not all sites will have recommendations immediately, but availability will gradually increase.

Currently, Search Console recommendations are in an experimental phase, meaning not all websites will receive recommendations immediately. However, Google plans a gradual rollout over the coming months. Even after full implementation, recommendations will be provided conditionally to ensure they are relevant and beneficial for each specific website.

Why do recommendations expire or change over time?

Recommendations in Google Search Console are not static – they are regularly recalculated based on the latest data from Google search. As site data and conditions change, recommendations are updated to provide the most current insights. Thus, recommendations will always be based on the latest trends, maintaining their relevance and effectiveness.

“Please note that even after full implementation, we will only provide recommendations when we have recommendations available for your websites,” Google states.

Practical use for e-commerce and marketing

E-commerce can benefit greatly from this new feature, as recommendations can improve SEO, product visibility, indexing of new items, and overall search ranking improvement.

By providing actionable insights based on real search data, this tool allows websites to effectively improve their SEO. When GSC recommendations reach a wider base of experts, they can represent a real benefit.

By staying aligned with these recommendations, businesses can ensure that their websites remain competitive, visible, and user-friendly, ultimately leading to increased traffic and higher conversion rates.
