Regional Differences

Dominant Online Retailers

According to Digital 2025: Global Overview Report Amazon keeps its position as the leading online retailer worldwide through its shopping mobile application leadership. Shopee holds the second position because of its dominant presence in Southeast Asia and Brazil, followed by Flipkart in third place, which operates from India. The new rankings show Temu replacing Shein as the fourth most popular online retailer.

Future Outlook

The growth of online shoppers together with logistics infrastructure development will drive e-commerce to expand its share within overall retail. The online market research shows fashion will probably keep its top spot, yet food and DIY categories will expand their digital presence.

The success of retailers depends on their ability to understand market trends while developing digital strategies to optimise their online potential. Shoppers now demonstrate growing acceptance of buying goods through online channels, which generates new business prospects across all retail sectors.
