TikTok Shop in Spain Shows Remarkable Results

As reported by ecommerce-news.es, TikTok Shop could reach 500 million euros in revenue in Spain during its first year of operation, just two months after its launch, if it replicates the success it achieved in the United Kingdom.

TikTok Shop in Spain: Key Findings

TikTok has become the fourth most popular social network in the country because it reaches 20 million users each month. The e-commerce platform TikTok Shop has become the fastest-growing platform in the UK since its launch in 2021, while fast-moving consumer goods make up more than 20% of British purchases on the platform.

The platform receives positive feedback from 50% of users who find it easy to use and 40% who like the straightforward payment system. The platform enables users to find new brands through their platform, and 83% of users let TikTok influence their buying choices. Additionally, 70% of users discover new brands through the platform.

Surprising Demographics

The most surprising finding is that:

  • Generation X accounts for 44% of spending
  • Generation Y contributes 33%
  • Generation Z only 15.3%
  • Women lead shopping activities by 60%
  • Personal care products stand as the top choice at 40%
  • Food takes the second spot, at 26% in Spanish consumer behaviour

Food stands as the second most popular category in Spain, whereas it is not among the top categories in other European nations.

The most popular shopping day occurs on Wednesdays, since sales reach 24% during this time. The shopping region of Catalonia leads the market with 19% of total purchases, followed by Andalusia.

Growth Indicators

The platform demonstrates strong potential to draw new customers because 17% of TikTok Shop users are completely new to e-commerce.

The Spanish e-commerce market experienced an 18% growth during the previous year which now makes up 6.6% of total sales.
