The launch of AI-powered features on YouTube might provide YouTube a competitive advantage over other social media video providers. YouTube hopes to inspire creators to use Google’s AI technologies instead of looking to substitutes like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

A YouTube official told TechCrunch that a small-scale test has a select set of creators now allowed to access the function. Before thinking about a larger release, the company wants to review creator comments.

This new Gemini-powered tool comes just after another AI capability YouTube started experimenting with in May. Focused on content inspiration, that earlier technology develops outlines to start the production process using AI to recommend video subjects depending on audience interests.

Social network, YouTube sees this as a chance to evaluate creator preferences for content ideation between the Gemini integration, the inspiration tool, or both taken together. Those involved in the experiment can access these capabilities via YouTube Studio. Entering a video notion into the search window offers two choices: the Brainstorm with Gemini tool or the inspiration tool.

While rivals like Instagram and TikTok are now concentrating their AI efforts on allowing creators to create digital avatars of themselves, social network, YouTube is approaching things differently. The platform is focused on using artificial intelligence technologies to help creators ground-up in generating their material.

YouTube wants to provide creators capabilities not now available on rival platforms by introducing AI-powered brainstorming tools. When looking for assistance with content ideas, the company is eager to know whether artists find it helpful to have both the inspiration tool and the option to collaborate with Gemini.
